Yup, we're still here!

The big marathon day is only 2 days away. It's been nuts training with 2 kids and limited time. We didn't train as much as we should have, but hopefully it was enough!!! Shawn and the kids are sick right now. Well, the kids are slowly getting better and I am fighting off whatever it is they have.

Jude is doing so much now. He pushes himself backwards, can pull up to his knees, is starting to wave, and is interacting more with his sister.

Evie is my wild monster. LOL! She is a bundle of energy that NEVER stops. Seriously...not even when she sleeps...The other day she drew a picture on a post-it note. "Look Mommy!", she was so excited to show me. "Wow, Evie, your picture is great! What is it of?", I asked her. "The cow jumping over the moon, Mommy." It almost instantaniously brought tears to my eyes. It is the first time she said what the picture was rather than point to it and say "dis". She has also started dance!! I'll get into that more in the next post...

Thanks for checking in!!

Family update

Jude is sick for the very first time! :( It is so sad! I think his teething has something to do with it. I just feel bad for my little (big) guy... He is sitting up on his own for a couple of minutes at a time now.
Evie is talking up a storm! Today she came home from the cabin and was so excited to tell me all about it. I didn't even have to prompt her. It was the first time she has done that! My baby girl is growing up so big!!!
Want a fun story?! Guess what made Evie shiny this time????
Yesterday I heard Evie downstairs clinking what I thought were glasses together. I went to see what the scoop was, and to my surprise, she was shiny!! This time it was her hands and face. I asked her to show me what she was doing and can you guess what she showed me?! BUTTER! Evie was settling down with a tasty treat of yummy, delicious butter.
We just had our pictures taken. Take a peek when you get a chance. I have to take Jude back to get his 6 months taken. By the time it was his turn, he was a very tired and cranky guy! http://www.passionateportraits.net/Proofs/Tylerfamily/index.html

Happy Birthday Evie!

It's hard to believe our baby girl is now 2 years old. I get choked up thinking about how I used to hold her in my arms and rock her and wonder how such a little (big) baby could have such a loud cry (scream). I am so proud of our daughter. She teaches me how to be a good person everyday. God has been very good to us...For Evie's birthday, we celebrated with family on Sunday at the beach. Well....we weren't anticipating a typhoon, but it was a nice time despite the wind. Then on her birthday Evie had an Elmo birthday party!!! It pretty much made her life! She had an Elmo cake, Elmo cookies, Elmo balloons, and decorations. A few of my stay-at-home moms came with their kids and went swimming. It was a great day. That evening we went to Shawn's softball game and she got to have a special treat for dinner- McDonald's! WOW! Evie is talking so much these days and she still has a raspy voice- I think that will be her trade mark. Temper tantrums have become a specialty and the phrase "use your words" can be heard at least a million times in one day! Just yesterday Evie started singing on her own and follow directions of songs. It is so cute! She is way into being a helper and LOVES her brother to pieces. As a matter of fact, she was at her Nanna's for a couple of nights and when she got back she pretty much gave Jude 10minutes of hugs and kisses. We couldn't be any happier that she loves him so much! And one last thing, besides during sleep times, Evie is potty trained! Woo hoo!

Jude is a big boy now!

That's right! We have a 6 month old on our hands! I cannot believe how fast time is going. Juju is becoming an active boy these days. He loves rolling over to get to things- mainly to put them in his mouth! And his teething...I have NEVER seen so much drool in my life! If any part of the country experiences a drought, send Jude their way! LOL He is still our mellow guy- compared to what we're used to- and a big time Momma's boy. But who's complaining;) He had his first non cereal food the other day, squash and zuccini. Mmmm...yummm...He loved it! I have a hunch that he's not going to be a very picky eater. Jude is also working on drinking from a sippy cup. At his 6 month check up, Jude was 29' tall and only 18lb 5 oz. I think something wasn't right with the scale, because he seems much heavier than that! Thanks for checking in and enjoy his 6 month pictures! Adventures of Jude and Evie

As you can see, Jude is eating cereal now! We gave it to him for the first time on the 3rd and he devoured it! I couldn't expect anything less! HA! We have been trying to minimize his night wakings so Mommy can get a little more rest. It's 4 am right now if that says anything!

Last weekend we went to my friends baby shower and her sister has a horse. Oh my, Evie was in heaven! These days Evie is non-stop. I never knew a child could do so much and not get tired. It's amazing! Shawn and I joke around by saying the only reason she sleeps is so she can recharge her battery. I swear you can actually see the little green bars light up when she's recharging!;)

Happy 4th of July!

We had a great 4th of July this year! To start our day off wedecorated the kids wagon and were in a kids parade in White Bear Lake. We put Jude in the Bumbo so he could sit in the wagon with Evie. It was great and both kids had a blast!
Later that day we went to my father-in-laws cabin on Lake Carnelian. We went swimming, ate great food, and had good company. Both kids were fascinated with the fireworks. The fireworks lasted at least an hour and were as spectacular as ever. So many cabins/houses around the lake buy the good fireworks every year for the 4th of July and try to out-do each other.

Jude Tales

Our big boy is 5 months old today! The time is going so fast and he is growing so big! Jude has been having a rough couple of weeks with teething. Poor guy just can't cut a break or a tooth! He is now rolling over from his tummy to his back, playing with his feet, grabbing at toys and getting mad when you take them away, and we may be starting him on foods. Jude has been my mellow baby. He loves to smile at anyone who will look at him and he's had a lot to say these days. He still LOVES his sister more than anything- it'll be cute when they can play together.

Adventures in Evieland!

Every morning Evie wakes up and plays in her room for a little bit before I go and get her. Yesterday was a typical day, until she was too quiet for too long. I went in to greet Evie with a "good morning" when she beat me to the punch. "Hi Momma!" Evie said in a happy, chipper voice. I was happy to have been greeted in such a nice way but was distracted by how shiny she was. Can you guess what she got into????? Vaseline!! Have you ever had to wash tons of vaseline out of fine hair? Gee, I got my lucky opportunity yesterday! It took about 8 times (two of theose using dish soap) to get her hair to look dirty, not wet.

First time fishing

Evie went fishing for the very first time at her Grandpa's cabin. She had so much fun! Evie had more fun playing wth the worms than catching fish- go figure!

Welcome!
